Gas Engineering Skills Bootcamp
These free Skills Bootcamps are for anyone looking to get into the gas engineering sector.
We have two different courses available:
- Responding to Gas Emergencies - you will gain the knowledge required to manage gas leaks and other gas emergencies and develop the necessary transferable skills to work under pressure in potentially hazardous situations
- Renewables in the Gas Industry - you will learn about new renewables technology being used within the gas sector and be taught how to install and handover solar hot water thermal systems and air source heater pumps
They are being delivered in partnership with a range of local employers who have vacancies in the gas engineering sector.
What you will learn
Content covered within the Skills Bootcamps will include:
- Installation of gas meters and regulators
- Strength testing and gas tightness testing
- Dealing with gas emergencies
- Installation of solar hot water thermal systems
- Installation of air source heat pumps
Participants will be prepared and supported to access a guaranteed interview with one of our partnered employers at the end of the course.
Duration
The Gas Emergency Bootcamp will be delivered over 16 weeks.
The Renewables in the Gas Industry Bootcamp will take 6 weeks.
