This course runs one day per week for six weeks.

Who the course is for

Must be aged 19 or over, and have lived in the UK / EU for a minimum of three years.

For full funding, you must:

  • be aged 19 or over
  • receive a state benefit payment (evidence required)
  • be unemployed or working less than 16 hours
  • be seeking employment

What you will study

You will learn:

  • Basic maths skills for understanding dosage.
  • Establishing a medication records audit.
  • Medication procedures for the multiplication of dosage.
  • Theoretical and practical tests on knowledge.
  • About Medication Improvement Action Plans.

This course is part of the Multiply maths project, a national initiative to improve maths skills.

Entry requirementsThis course is for anyone aged 19 or over.
Requirements of the course, for example personal protective equipment, tools, and materialsThis course supports people in employment within the care sector, or volunteering on a placement, to be able to put learning into practice.
Progression and careers

Upon completion, you could progress towards numeracy qualifications such as functional skills or progression in employment into higher job roles.
