Who the course is for (eligibility and personal characteristics) | Residents in South Tyneside who do not hold a qualification in English up to a Level 2. This includes those in paid employment or in receipt of a welfare benefit. |
What you will study (key modules or content) | Functional Skills in English provide learners with the essential knowledge, skills and understanding that will allow them to operate confidently, effectively and independently in everyday life and in the workplace. They support learners and help with progression into employment and further study. The course will cover:

| Progression and careers | Learners can progress onto the next level of English with the training provider. They also offer courses in Functional Skills Maths, ESOL and Level 1 Diploma in Skills for Employment, Training and Personal Development.
