Who is this course for? (Eligibility and personal characteristics)

Must be aged 19 or over and have lived in the UK or EU for a minimum of three years.

For full funding you must be:

  • aged 19 or over
  • receive any state benefit payment (evidence required)
  • unemployed or working less than 16 hours and seeking employment
What will I study? (key modules or content)

This course is suitable for you if you're seeking employment in the Health and Social Care sector.

  • It is designed to boost your work and life skills to help gain employment in a desired role
  • It will develop your knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care environments
  • It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs and health care procedures

This will help you be 'employment ready' and with applying for jobs in this sector.

As well as gaining knowledge and skills of the care sector, you will develop interview skills with a session with the National Careers Service.

What are the entry requirements?This course is for anyone aged over 19 years. 
Requirements of the course (Personal protective equipment, tools, materials)

This qualification is a mixture of knowledge and skills.

Learners need to undertake 150 hours of practical placement.

Progression and Careers

You could progress to a Level 3 Diploma in Care and / or learners can enter either the adult care or health workforces.

The content is applicable to a variety of roles, including:

• adult care worker
• healthcare assistant or support worker
• personal assistant.
