Certificate in the Children's and Young People's Workforce - Training in Care

You must have lived in the UK / EU for a minimum of three years.

For full funding you must:

• be aged 19 or over
• receive a state benefit payment (evidence required)
• be unemployed or working less than 16 hours and seeking employment

The course is designed to boost your work (and life) skills to help you gain employment.

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with children and young people aged 0 to 19 years and their environments.

It covers a wide range of areas including child development and safeguarding.

This course will make you employment ready and you can apply for jobs after completion.

You will gain sector knowledge and skills, plus interview skills with a session with the National Careers Service.

This qualification is a mixture of knowledge and skills.

You will need to undertake 150 hours of practical placement.

This qualification provides a direct progression route to the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce.

You could also progress to the following job roles:

• assistant pre-school workers
• assistants in children's centres
• assistants in day nurseries, nursery schools and nursery classes in primary schools
