The Security Pathway equips learners with the skills and qualifications necessary to pursue careers in the private security industry, including roles such as security guards, door supervisors and event stewards. This pathway offers specialised training in areas such as safeguarding, conflict resolution, emergency response and crowd management, preparing learners to work effectively in a variety of security settings.  

Key components of this pathway include: 

Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry: This certification provides learners with the legal and practical knowledge required to work as door supervisors in licensed premises. Topics covered may include licensing laws, incident management, conflict resolution and customer service skills. 

Safeguarding and Prevent Training: In recognition of the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals and preventing radicalisation and extremism, this component of the pathway introduces learners to key concepts and strategies related to safeguarding, prevent and duty of care. 

Mental Health Training:  This part of the course and qualification covers topics such as recognising signs and symptoms of mental health problems, offering initial support, and understanding the impact of mental health on individuals and communities. It aims to equip learners to act as first responders in mental health crises and promote mental well-being.

Upon completion of the course, you will be guaranteed an interview with a local employer within the sector.
